Lets think about a long-term solution for Iraq. Maybe we can engage the UN or NATO. After we pull out, we will have an unstable Iraq. While we might not get there help, we should ask for it.

I haven't heard any news about our efforts to engage either body. We know that our brave military is helping to stabilize Iraq. If it is worth the cost is the question people opposing the troop deployment answer negatively. What we are doing is not working, if we stop doing it, it will not work faster.

The US Congress says it does not have the votes to overcome a veto. If they stood tall for our country and insisted to not vote for anymore funding until contact is established and maintained with the UN/NATO, they simple won't fund the war effort. It is not a matter of saying the President is wrong, it is a matter of creating a long lasting solution.
